Sandpiper is an intimate, boutique hotel on Barbados' West coast that boasts two of the most luxurious suites on the island. Lush tropical gardens surround the swimming pool and lead down to a large coral sand bay where, the more active guest can take advantage of a host of complimentary water sports, to include water-skiing, windsurfing, Hobie cat and sunfish sailing, kayaking and snorkelling. Accommodation consists of garden rooms and one and two bedroom suites which are beautifully furnished in an elegant and simple Caribbean style and all have private terraces. The suites are particularly luxurious, with separate living rooms, kitchens and large terraces. The two fabulous ‘Tree Top Suites’ add a further dimension of luxury to The Sandpiper. Each suite has its own private sundeck with plunge pool and an oversized wrap-around terrace. The restaurant at Sandpiper is renowned as being one of the finest on the island and the cuisine rates very highly, having won numerous awards. It has a West Indian theme.

Sandpiper’s Executive Chef, Christophe Poupardin, offers eclectic menus with a combination of Caribbean and International influences. Dinner menus are written daily to ensure good variety and freshness of ingredients.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Children under the age of 5 years are not allowed in the restaurant or lounge after 7:00 pm.

Weddings

Weddings can be arranged by the hotel in a variety of locations with a stay of five nights or more. The wedding package includes all fees for the minister, all ceremony costs, your licence fees and stamp, a bouquet for the bride and a buttonhole for the groom made from local flowers, a wedding cake and a bottle of champagne. Extras including photography can be organised and the hotel will naturally make arrangements for most requests.

Honeymoons

Honeymooners receive flowers and fruit in their room on arrival when staying at least 7 nights at The Sandpiper for stays of seven nights or longer.

Children are welcome, except 15th January to 15th March when under 12 years cannot be accommodated. Children under the age of 5 years are not allowed in the dining room or lounge after 7:00 pm but the hotel can provide early dining or meals served at room service for younger guests. The chefs will also endeavour to provide baby meals upon request.

To ensure the hotels youngest guests also enjoy their stay the hotel also provide a range of equipment to include cots, high chairs, beds with sides, play pens, push chairs, hot plates, bottle sterilizers, children’s books, monitors, mosquito nets and kettles.

Sandpiper offers a summer family program for all children between the ages of 2 and 12 years. All features listed below are available weekly at no additional charge, between 1st July and 14th August - 3 half hour sailing lessons - 3 half hour swimming lessons - 2 half hour tennis lessons - 2 hours per day of supervised care for children between 2 and 8 years, Monday to Friday. Babysitting is available at an additional charge.
